Yield To The Watcher

I am asleep for a reason,
I am curled and nested,
Between my arched bones I feel young,
Young and tender,
Unable to see the difference between floating on toes
And hunting on animals fours,
I cant meet a line,
Or smile a word,
So I sip from tomorrow,

and watch patiently.

Bon Iver

Been listening to this album on repeat for almost a week now. Such an amazingly honest, beautiful and raw record. Love this!

currently

wow, its been a hot minute since i have posted anything and i apologize. I have been ridiculously, insanely busy the past few weeks and i wish i could say its all been going into my artwork, but that's just not the way the cookie has crumbled and my day job has been keeping me very very occupied. but never fear i still have been as busy as humanly possible in the studio, currently I'm working on making some new pieces for some upcoming shows i have later this year. Like always I'm really trying to push myself with these new works and i have def. been out of my comfort zone lately. And while that is always a good thing and a sign of growth it also means that i have been riding that emotional roller coaster. But all in all i have high hopes and think that all this struggle and frustration will pay off, so wish me luck and if you could keep your fingers crossed for me i would be ever so grateful!! here is a quick close up pic of one I'm working on now, its nowhere near finished so hopefully you can bare with me!!

* P.S. I have been so inspired by these two fantastic records! The first is off the amazing new Arcade Fire album titled "Suburbs" here is one of my fav. tracks off the record.

and the second is off probably the best heavy record i have heard this year, its the flawless and utterly brilliant record "Option Paralysis" by The Dillinger Escape Plan. Enjoy!

Scene 1: As The Landscape Blurred (The Memories Shown Through It)

Scene 1: As The Landscape Blurred (The Memories Shown Through It)

Blue and green share in yellow gold and aged brown,
mixing the wisdom and smiles
of all that lies below and across from you.
Held deep in the familiar lines of your hands
is the scene we smother,
fractions of warm air, forgotten folds and imagined creases.
All shimmering and brilliant we stand,
where the smiles grow in the deep and foreign roots
of those circular feet, that blur everything. and remember nothing.

Heros get remembered...But legends never die

After 13 years of head banging post-hardcore legends Poison The Well have decided to call it quits. But instead of sulking, I wanted to take this opportunity to thank them for making some really incredible and influential records that have been such a tremendous source of inspiration for so many. Thanks guys, for everything!

In their honor, here is a live version of the track "Sticks & Stones Never Made Sense"

MMMM! NEW NORMA JEAN!

Oh my! I have been waiting for this release for what seems like forever (only 11 more days till it drops)! And every time I watch this teaser video for their new album "Meridional" I have a smile that is firmly plastered across my silly face! Nice to know that even after all these years the almighty Norma Jean still brings the heat!

But in honoring the new its also important to pay respect to the past, so here is one off their fantastic second record "O' God The Aftermath"! Enjoy!

busy.busy.busy.

Here are a few detail shots of some new works/experiments in progress. I have really been enjoying the time I have to create lately. And don't get me wrong, I am always very grateful and appreciative for any time I am able to paint because I love painting to pieces, its without a doubt the peanut butter to my jelly but sometimes painting will have me so frustrated and tied in knots that I need to force myself to sit and push through a work session, but not recently. Sure there are always gonna be the bumps in the road, and the minor struggles, but for the most part I cant wait to come home, put my headphones on, pour a delicious cup of coffee, tune the world out and delve right in!

"Translucent Skin"

"Translucent Skin"

A hopeful touch,
greeted with a silent push,
the tension is delicious,
meet the dreaming "x"
its every porous desire revealed and consumed,
the surface longing of foreign flesh,
will trade coupled desires for countless connected threads and carefully collected feathers.

(cradle me in sleep,
the way risk eats that heart on my sleeve,
that heart that laughs at my hands,
the hands for which it beats.)

"Translucent Skin" Photo Process

Here is a brief process post for my newest work "Translucent Skin" which will be headed to London, England for the "Next Generation" show! Sorry about the photo quality, all the photo's were taken with my phone which makes them look kind of blurry and distorts the color, but hopefully you can bear with me!

The National

I got to see The National, one of my favorite bands of all time, play last night at The Wiltern In Los Angeles. It was the opening night of their U.S. tour in support of their fantastic new record "High Violet". I have been a fan of the band for a few years now and last night was my first time seeing them live, and in short I must say it was DEFINITELY worth the wait. If you haven't heard of them before, definitely give them a listen! Below are some pics I took from the show with my phone, and some of their tasty tasty jams! Enjoy!
